Quick Answer

Los Angeles hosts fashion shows all year — brand launches, trunk shows, student showcases, charity runway galas — but most of them are invite-only or industry events. The one major runway event anyone can buy a seat at is Los Angeles Fashion Week by The Bureau: two seasons per year (March & October) at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood, with hundreds of designers and public tickets — no credentials or invitation required. The next season is October 16–18, 2026. Tickets aren’t released yet; the waitlist gets first access.

Every Kind of Fashion Show LA Hosts

Search “fashion shows in Los Angeles” and you’ll find a scattered calendar, because LA’s runway life doesn’t live in one place. It helps to know what the categories actually are — and, more importantly, which ones you can get into.

Fashion week runwaysThe anchor. Multi-day, multi-designer runway seasons — in LA, that’s Los Angeles Fashion Week by The Bureau, twice a year in March & October. Ticketed and open to the public.
Brand shows & launchesLabels staging their own runway moments, collection previews, and launch parties — showrooms, rooftops, rented stages. Almost always invite-only.
Trunk shows & showroom eventsSmaller sales-driven presentations at boutiques and showrooms. Access usually comes through the store’s client list rather than a ticket page.
Student showcasesLA’s fashion schools — institutions like FIDM and Otis — stage graduate and student runway showcases, typically around the end of the academic year, with access handled through the schools.
Charity & gala runwaysFundraisers and galas that fold a runway segment into the evening. Tickets exist but are priced as fundraising tables, not show seats.

The pattern is clear once you see it: LA has runway events all year, but the public, ticketed, just-buy-a-seat version concentrates into fashion week. Everything else mostly requires being on somebody’s list.

LA Fashion Week: The Runway Anyone Can Attend

Los Angeles Fashion Week by The Bureau is the city’s biggest public runway event — an officially calendared fashion week with hundreds of designers each season, produced by the team behind New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. It runs two seasons per year, March & October, and the whole weekend happens at one address: The Lot Studios, the working film production lot in West Hollywood where United Artists was founded in 1919. The runway itself is built on a soundstage inside the lot.

The part that surprises people: you don’t need to be anyone to go. No press credential, no buyer badge, no friend backstage. Tickets are sold to the public, seats are real seats, and the room mixes editors and stylists with people attending their first show ever. If your search started with “how do I even get into one of these?” — this is the answer.

The 2026 Runway Calendar, Practically

If you want to sit at a runway show in the next year, here’s the working calendar — The Bureau’s public seasons plus the recurring rhythms of the rest of LA’s show circuit.

Oct 16–18, 2026Los Angeles Fashion Week by The Bureau — The Lot Studios, West Hollywood. Tickets not yet released; waitlist open.
March & OctoberParis Fashion Week by The Bureau runs the same two-season rhythm — and LAFW returns every March & October after that.
Spring, annuallyFashion school showcases (FIDM, Otis, and others) cluster around graduation season — check each school for dates and access.
Year-roundBrand launches, trunk shows, and charity runway galas — irregular, mostly invite-only or fundraiser-priced.

How LA Fashion Week Tickets Work

Every show at LAFW is sold in three tiers, and — unlike some fashion weeks — every tier is a seat. Front Row VIP puts you in row 1, close enough to read fabric texture as it passes. Reserved Seating is an assigned seat in the rows behind. General Admission is seated best-available within its section. Same runway, same room; the difference is proximity and perks.

For reference, the March 2026 season priced at GA $65, Reserved $95, and Front Row VIP $195–$295 per show, with day and weekend passes layered on top. October 2026 pricing hasn’t been announced.

The current state of play: October tickets are not on sale yet. When they release, waitlist members see the show calendar and pricing first — which matters, because the best seats at the most-wanted time slots are exactly what goes first. Joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing; it’s simply the front of the line.

Turning a Ticket Into a Good Night

Once the seat is handled, three guides cover everything between your closet and the finale walk:

What to Wear

No enforced dress code — but it’s the most fashion-fluent room in LA. Outfit logic by tier, day vs. evening, and October weather: the what-to-wear guide.

The Venue

The Lot Studios — a century-old working studio lot, its United Artists history, parking, and getting there: the venue guide.

Your First Show

How the weekend flows, tiers explained, show-day timing, and etiquette: the first-time guide.

Who Can Come

Anyone — no credentials needed. LAFW is primarily an adult event; guests over 12 may attend with an adult (every attendee needs a ticket), 16+ recommended.

Want a Runway Seat Sooner? New York Is On Sale Now

One practical footnote: The Bureau produces fashion weeks in three markets — New York, Los Angeles, and Paris — and they don’t all run on LA’s timeline. New York Fashion Week, September 11–13, 2026 at Gotham Hall is the flagship season, and its tickets are on sale now — no waitlist required. If the goal is a runway seat this year, New York is bookable today; if the goal is LA specifically, the October waitlist is the move. (Deciding between them? NYFW vs LAFW breaks down the two cities show by show.)

Fashion Shows in LA — Common Questions

Are there fashion shows in Los Angeles?+
Yes — Los Angeles hosts fashion shows across the calendar: fashion week runway seasons, brand launches and trunk shows, fashion school student showcases, and charity runway galas. The biggest public runway event is Los Angeles Fashion Week by The Bureau, which runs two seasons per year (March and October) at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood. The next season is October 16–18, 2026.
How do I attend a fashion show in Los Angeles?+
The most reliable route is a ticketed public event. LA Fashion Week by The Bureau sells tickets directly to the public — no industry credentials, connections, or invitation required. Brand shows and launch events are usually invite-only, and student showcases sell or distribute tickets through the schools. For LAFW October 2026, tickets haven't been released yet; the waitlist gets first access.
How do I get invited to a fashion show?+
For LA Fashion Week, you don't need an invitation at all — it's a ticketed public event, and anyone can buy a seat when tickets release. The invite-only layer of LA's fashion calendar (brand launches, showroom presentations, private dinners) generally requires an industry relationship, but the runway weekend itself is open to the public.
How much do fashion show tickets cost in Los Angeles?+
At LA Fashion Week's March 2026 season, General Admission ran $65 per show, Reserved Seating $95, and Front Row VIP $195–$295. October 2026 pricing hasn't been announced yet — waitlist members see pricing and the show calendar first when tickets release.
When is LA Fashion Week 2026?+
The Bureau's Los Angeles Fashion Week runs October 16–18, 2026 — Friday through Sunday — at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood. LAFW runs two seasons per year, in March and October.
Where are fashion shows in LA held?+
All over the city — brand events favor showrooms, rooftops, and rented stages, and student showcases run at school venues. LA Fashion Week by The Bureau is held at The Lot Studios, 1041 N Formosa Ave in West Hollywood — a working film production lot where United Artists was founded in 1919. Shows happen on a soundstage inside the lot.
Can anyone go to LA Fashion Week?+
Yes. LA Fashion Week by The Bureau is open to the public — anyone can buy a ticket, and no industry affiliation is required. The event is primarily for adults; children over 12 may attend with an adult, every attendee needs a ticket regardless of age, and 16+ is recommended.
What should I wear to a fashion show in LA?+
There's no enforced dress code at LA Fashion Week — but it's the most fashion-fluent room in the city, and most guests dress deliberately. Elevated separates, a statement piece, or polished tailoring all work; October means warm afternoons, cool evenings, and a climate-controlled soundstage. The full breakdown is in the what-to-wear guide.
Are there fashion shows in LA outside of fashion week?+
Yes, but access changes. Brand launches, trunk shows, and showroom presentations run year-round and are mostly invite-only; fashion schools stage student showcases around graduation season; charity galas add runway moments to their programs. Fashion week remains the moment the city's runway calendar concentrates into public, ticketed shows.
What about New York Fashion Week?+
The Bureau also produces New York Fashion Week — its flagship season — September 11–13, 2026 at Gotham Hall. Unlike LAFW October, NYFW tickets are on sale now, so if you want a runway seat this year, New York is the one you can book today.
